Allen West Tells It Like It Is - and - GOP Needs New Leadership

Allen West is an American political commentator, former member of the House of Representatives, and retired US Army lieutenant colonel. He represented Florida's 22nd congressional district from 2011 to 2103. He is a Republican and a member of the Tea Party Caucus. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, his father and older brother were career military officers. Both of his parents were registered Democrats, but states they were conservatively democrat. He received a master's degree in political science from Kansas State University and also earned a master of military arts and sciences degree from the US Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory, military history and military operations. He served from 1983 to 2004.
After airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he received his Parachutist Badge and was assigned as an airborne infantry fire support officer and platoon leader, later as a battalion training officer for the 82nd Airborne Division in Vicenza, Italy. In 1987, he was promoted to captain and attended Field Artillery Officer's Advanced Course, and after graduation took command of B Battery, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. As a member of the 1st Infantry Division, he deployed to Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Allen is married to Angela M. Graham [West] since 1989 and Angela holds a Ph.D. in education from Kansas State University, receiving a gubernatorial appointment to the board of trustees of Florida Atlantic University. They have two daughters and reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Allen is a certified master scuba diver, motorcycle enthusiast, and honorary member of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He co-hosted the 2013 Troopathon. Mr. West is a member and promoter of the NRANational Rifle Association.
While serving as a representative in Congress, Mr. West was on the Armed Services and Small Business Committees, as well as the Congressional Black Caucus. He has a new book published in 2014 entitled Guardian of the Republic.
Now more than ever, the American republic needs a guardian: a principled, informed conservative who understands where we came from, who can trace the philosophical roots of our faith and freedom, and who has a plan to get America back on track. West isn’t afraid to speak truth to power, and in this book he shares the experiences that shaped him and the beliefs he would die to defend.
Mr. West recently wrote an article entitled Keeping Negroes in Line, sending the commentary to my email, which I transpose here:
Friends,
The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) refers to itself as the “conscience of the Congress” and as a Member I found that moniker oxymoronic. And I found recent comments from Chairwoman Marcia Fudge (D-Oh) rather disturbing.
During a town hall meeting at the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference, Congresswoman Fudge (D-OH) had some blunt words for constituents, accusing them of not spending enough time with their local elected officials, and saying, “you need to contain your complaining.”
Rep. Marcia Fudge owes the constituents who attended the meeting an apology. She has obviously forgotten she is a public servant, and is not called to BE served. However, she is well rewarded by the white liberal progressives who depend on her to keep those Negroes in line.
Steadfast and Loyal
Mr. West has been considered 'outspoken', making statements like pro-Palestinian demonstrators and “chicken men” Democrats should “get the hell out” of the United States and that African American Democrats are trying to keep African Americans “on the plantation”. In reality, he just speaks the truth – which other politicians and citizens seem to be afraid to do.
In 2011, Democratic National Committee chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, made a derogatory comment on the floor of the House of Representatives – AFTER West departed the chamber. Mr. West sent an email to her and a copy to members of the House Democratic and Republican leadership, characterizing Wasserman-Schultz as -
...the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.
He also stated that she was “not a lady” and asked that she focus upon her own congressional district. Of course, if the shoe was on the other foot, a Democrat would be crying out “racism” against the Democratic chairman; especially since her derogatory and accusatory remarks were made after he left the floor. West also stated that it was a long-standing dispute that -
...dates back to the disgusting protest you ordered at my campaign headquarters.
At a town hall meeting in 2012, Mr. West was asked by a man in the audience:
What percentage of the American legislature do you think are card carrying Marxists or International Socialists?
He responded:
...there's about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party that are members of the Communist Party.
When asked to name them, he replied:
Mr. West defended the Tea Party against Black Caucus members in 2011, threatening to quit the prejudice organization. Read Mr. West's article about the Black Caucus.
Mr. West continues to warn Americans about the threat of Islamic Jihadism and its infiltration into the United States, our open border and threat to national security.
