The Heart of a Nation

MissLiberty_Oval As readers have seen, I have a “beef” with most of those who now hold office and presently (supposedly) running our government on our behalf. I am not, as some have accused me of being – “anti-government”, well at least not the government that the Founders established as a Jeffersonian/federalist republic – which would mean I would be against all government, which is nonsense for there would be anarchy and chaos. However, I AM a patriot – in the sense that I am loyal to my fellow Americans, those that serve in the armed forces, any government official who adheres to constitutional law, respects the will of the people and believes that in order for America to remain strong we must retain our traditions and our original form of government; and by being strong we can help others help themselves become a democracy and enjoy the freedom and liberty that America stands for.

According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, Patriot is from the old French “patriote” and the Latin word “patriôta”, meaning:
One who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.
However, the original Webster definition is this:
A person who loves, supports, and defends his country.
If you notice, the difference has been caused by the permeation of a syndrome called "political correctness" - combined with the minority Left infiltrating our educational system.
Is patriotism for our government or our country? I believe that patriotism is for our country – the people and government “By the People and For the People” is where I derive this ideology. You can be a patriot if you disagree with our President, a member of the Supreme Court or any member of Congress. You are a patriot if you feel that serving in the military is not for you, but support those that do and respect their decision and their unfailing devotion and service in the Armed Forces of the United States and there are ways to support the armed forces and the people who serve in it without serving yourself - you know how to do it without any direction or explanation from me.
It is called Freedom of Choice, where the Founders, like Thomas Jefferson, felt was something that is older than governments, instituted by a Divine Being and therefore should never be suppressed by an human or their entity.
Your life is the sum result of all the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously. If you can control the process of choosing, you can take control of all aspects of your life. You can find the freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself. Robert F. Bennett
It seems easy for some people today to be negative about our nation, siding with others without really knowing the truth; and it is also hurtful and disappointing when people we voted for and rely on to represent us in the works of government to cheat, lie and steal – and, even commit traitorous actions – but we must never think that all are this way and we must ensure that ethics and the laws of our government are followed and those found guilty under the laws of justice are punished according to their crimes - no one should be above the law.
The_Ten_Commandments_lg In recent times we do not take as seriously the crime of traitorous actions. I am not saying that we should instill capital punishment for all convicted traitors – unless the traitor has caused the death of undercover operatives working on behalf of our nation in the form of intelligence and security operations or other peoples as the result of his/her traitorous actions. We just don't consider traitors as serious as we once did or are reluctant to pursue justice against those that clearly are. Is this because we have lost our sense of national unity - patriotism? Or has political correctness permeated our society in such a way that we are not supposed to be judgmental against transgressors of the law - constitutional or moral? Some of the constitutional laws, the laws, for instance, against murder - it coincides with one the Ten Commandments that the Left seems to want to do away with. Other than the first four commandments, (1) "Thou shalt not have no other gods before me"; (2) Thou shalt not make unto  thee any graven image; (3) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; (4) Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy - commandments five through ten represent rules of social values that benefit any civilization/nation, even in a government that prides itself to be secular. [Exodus 20]
We all want a better life, for us, our family and friends – but never at the cost of our nation – a disease of materialism has swept this nation for sometime. There are those who ask our government, through those we elect, that we can do ourselves. And like John F. Kennedy said, in part, in his inaugural speech:
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. …To those peoples in the huts and villages across the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required – not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich. … So let us begin anew – remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate. … Since this country was founded, each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe. … Can we forge against these enemies a grand and global alliance, North and South, East and West, that can assure a more fruitful life for all mankind? Will you join in that historic effort? …
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what
America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. …
There are those who do not vote anymore, for various reasons, mostly because they have become disillusioned and dissatisfied and others just out of disinterest or laziness; yet when they don’t vote they are leaving the decisions to others. So how can they complain about the results? How can they possibly believe that matters will miraculously be kept attuned to the Constitution or reform the laws and policies that have caused problems without Americans voting. Do they realize that there are people in the world who are not afforded such freedoms, such as voting? And when they do, sometimes the votes are not the will of the people, but the will and tyranny of despots and rogue leadership.
And there those who do vote, but they do not vote responsibly. They complain about the continuing and existing conditions and problems – the issues – but continue to vote for the same people, reelecting those that caused the problem or do not address issues, or worse - work systematically to take away the liberties that were established at the founding of our nation. They believe that there is a better system, specifically a socialist system or one that is tailored for the American governmental operations that results in a welfare state, a people who depend on government from the "cradle to the grave".
From his cradle to his grave a man never does a single thing which has any first and foremost object but one – to secure peace of mind, spiritual comfort, for himself. Mark Twain
There isn’t – they are being led falsely. They do not realize that world history has proven that such a system is not lasting nor is it to any benefit for the people – it is the government elite, those in charge, who benefit. And the end result is that we are turning our wheels as a nation and going absolutely nowhere except backwards.
Do you really believe the ideology of Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Barack H. Obama, and others of their ideology - that the people of our nation are not capable of taking care of important aspects or important decisions of their lives - it is the job of government - with them making decisions for you, "on your behalf"?
If so, maybe you should stop reading at this point - you have already been brainwashed - but hopefully you will read on with an open mind and heart.
The success of this minority who does all the speaking, while the "silent majority" remains silent is because of the infiltration by those who would subvert in our education system. Oddly, many belong to the 60s and 70s generation who discounted the values, ideology and traditions of the "establishment" - and then became part of it that establishment becoming more "biased" than their predecessors. Instead of strengthening and promoting intellectual growth and honoring/retaining American traditions - they have instead chosen to become that establishment that promotes their ideas without any acknowledgment of the right of discussion and debate concerning their perceived "truth" of matters or the simple importance of inquiry. And these are the people who established the system of political correctness, instituted the practice of sending those to established procedures like "anger management" and "sensitivity training". Mostly for those who still have an opinion of their own and/or have a passion for what they believe in.
How many times have you heard the rhetoric that the "right wing" is malicious and "mean spirited"? Yet, those that make these accusations have repeatedly and hypocritically committed the same acts of "offense" and rudeness they have accused others of - and compounded it. Pay attention to not just their words, but their actions - do they match?
It is in fact, nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry. Albert Einstein
CodePinkAttack_Condi Code Pink is a politically left and radical group who are completely anti-war - even if we have been attacked by an enemy or enemies. Although their protests are not just against the conservative side of the political scene, because they have protested against Hillary Clinton as well. Their major activities are documented at the Wikipedia entry. They support the Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez - but not their own nation and its president during a congressional declared war against Islamic fascism (organized terrorism). Yet, the Democrats turn their heads concerning this group's unethical behavior and continue to support them. A good example would be Lynn Woolsey, representative from California who is part of the "Progressive" Caucus - progressive being a code word for the advocacy for the creation (continued creation) of an American socialist state and society. These Code Pink people have disrupted congressional business and attacked and harassed members of the Bush administration like Secretary of State Condoleezza "Condi" Rice.
Technology is good and the wonderful things it produces can be beneficial and a means of improving our way of life; however, the high-tech world does not have to give up its values as a society or a nation just because of the new technological world. And that is the key to repairing what is broken – returning the importance of values and our tried and proven traditions.
Patriotism is not dead, or it shouldn’t be. Nationalism can be a bad thing, in a sense of its direction, however, as was demonstrated in Nazi Germany in a period of world history that should be remembered as a stark lesson that patriotism should not be construed as a blind nationalism that creates a false sense of superiority.
Isn’t it odd that other nations’ peoples have retained many of these values? Isn’t it sad that the golden rule in America has become passé’? Why must it be? Is it because it was established by the Judeo/Christian theological ideology? Ideas should not be discounted just because of its origin, as in the case of the advocacy of the atheist. In America we are supposed to be tolerant to all religions and those who have none at all. But this tolerance must be reciprocating, and that tolerance cannot be construed as a weakness, as our present enemies of the Islamic fascist factions have demonstrated. They use our tolerance against us, and we must unite and figure a way to solve this issue without losing our sense of freedom of religion.
And the key solution to our nation’s success is unification, not Balkanization or as some may call it – “multiculturalism”. The latter segregates the nation into pockets of different cultures with no sense of national unity. And, logically, when one immigrates to another nation, shouldn’t they accept its own established traditions and laws – and not bring what they left behind?
When one decides to live and be part of another nation, one should expect to assimilate and be a participant and be of concern for that nation’s well being, to include loyalty, as well as respect for its history and traditions. Not so for those who come to America, and this is not necessarily the immigrants fault – it is ours because of the developed attitude and policies that has been established by the minority of the populace. We are, and have been for at least two decades, become overrun by the minority whose ideologies is basically on the assumption that the people could not or cannot live their lives without government (with them running it) guiding us (called manipulation) and ensuring that legislation is passed to provide for us (called social engineering) and ensure that we are “taken care of” in a false sense of security (welfare state). All these ideals are based on the principles of Marxism (socialism/communism) that uses tools such as class jealousy (against those that are productive, for the aristocracy in the true sense of the word no longer is the issue) and part-truth propaganda in order to manipulate the majority into complying with their planned agenda and unconstitutional and undemocratic ways of running government. The unions, for example, must continue to stress to the people that they must remain in existence because the American people could not possibly make a living without their help. And this goes on with the agencies and organizations that were established for a dignified and true purpose, but now have become entities that must make up advocacy and purpose in order to look like they are useful – an example that comes to mind would be the NAACP and the ACLU. Instead they actually have become detrimental to the peace and constitutional rights for which we have been granted by the Founders of this nation – and the media has become a tool, not For the People, but instead the elite of those within the entities within our government and the leaders of a present minority whose aims are not to retain tradition, protect the people’s rights by protecting the constitutional laws or want any part of a movement to return the government back to limitation within the confines of what was established. The media has not been fulfilling its obligation to print truth or be objective in their news reporting – instead have become tools of political ideology and goals too often to the extent of committing traitorous acts and character assassination of those they deem not to be part of their libel and misguided advocacy.
During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been leveled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare. Thomas Jefferson
Mark Alexander, Patriot Post founder, editor and commentator, writes:
At the time of our nation’s founding, journalists, like judges, were expected to comport with the highest standards of objectivity in order to protect the public virtue. Neither has held to that standard.
The press was charged with a heavy burden – that of providing impartial reports about the issues of the day and those running for political office. Unbiased reporting was essential so that the people could discern for themselves what was best for our country.
First Amendment champion James Madison wrote, “The right of freely examining public characters and measures …has ever been justly deemed the only effectual guardian of every other right.” Likewise, Thomas Jefferson penned, “Where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe.” …
Two centuries later, “the press” is composed largely of Left-media propagandists, those who have mastered the art of partiality cloaked as objective journalism.[I] There are explicit examples of this partiality on the pages of major organs such as The Washington Post and The New York Times. Last week, when it appeared that The Post’s darling, Hillary Clinton, might lose the New Hampshire primary, it ran a front-page story questioning whether Barack Obama was a closet Muslim. Assistant Managing Editor Bill Hamilton apologized for how the story had been “misunderstood,” but the damage was done.[II]
One of the most deceptive techniques used in national election cycles, especially presidential elections, is the countless political polling sponsored by media outlets. Polls, ostensibly, represent the views of a particular group of voters within an acceptable margin of error, but they are also used for a much more subtle and sinister purpose. At best, reputable pollsters can get it wrong – even though they poll representative statistical examples and ask objective questions.[III]
For example, in
New Hampshire last week, Hillary Clinton was pronounced DOA. Only 24 hours before the primary in that state, ten major polls predicted that she would lose to Barack Obama by a substantial margin – more than ten points. Yet when all was said and done, Clinton, with a little help from her friends at The Washington Post, was the victor.[IV] So, on a good day, objective polling by reputable pollsters can be wrong …
To that end, it is worth familiarizing oneself with the practice of Pollaganda, a propagandistic disinformation technique where political polling masquerades as “objective journalism” and instead advances a liberal bias. …
Pollaganda uses outcome-based opinion samples (polling instruments designed to generate a preferential outcome) reflecting prior-opinion indoctrination or cultivation by the media.[V] … The MSM[VI] then presents this “data” as if it were “news”.[VII]
Then the media uses poll results to proselytize further by treating the results as “news,” which, in turn, induces “bandwagon” psychology – the human tendency of those who do not have a strong ideological foundation to aspire to the side perceived to be in the majority – and thus further drives public opinion toward the original media bias, ad infinitum.[VIII]
Pollaganda, then, is self-perpetuating.
Polls are so often manipulated for this purpose that The Patriot Post NEVER reports polling (conservative or liberal) as legitimate news because virtually all polling is nothing more than a well-crafted lie used to propagate a particular bias.[IX]
This is not to say that polls don’t provide an accurate account of public sentiment. It is simply to say that such sentiment is largely a reflection of MSM indoctrination – and thus comports with a liberal viewpoint. Conservatives are therefore forced to run a considerable and unrelenting MSM opinion gauntlet.
Given the Left’s domination of the mainstream media, it’s remarkable that any political candidates to the right of the news editors of ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN or NPR, or their ideological kin on the editorial boards of The Washington Post and The New York Times, ever make it to Washington. … In fact, only eight percent of reporters say they would consider voting for a conservative – no surprise to objective media analysts.
I do not suggest that there is anything but a benign Left-media conspiracy to undermine anything conservative; the bias is largely the consequence of the mass-media zeitgeist and culture, which are uniformly and profoundly left of center.[X]
The heart of a nation is its people and it is to the people, which constitutes a nation that we should be first and foremost loyal to – and at the same time, as long as the government actually represents the people, the government becomes part of that patriotic process. And, as a side note, the American flag or any flag of any nation should represent the people of that nation who ARE that nation – and thus, if an American burns a flag in protest as reluctantly allowed by the freedom to do so – they are not burning or protesting against the government, they are demonstrating the symbol of the people’s banner that represents our nation – the people, whereas the government is only (should be) the instrument of the people. And why must a flag of any nation be given disrespect in such a manner? Are there not better, more honorable ways to demonstrate the strength of one’s resolve in promoting an advocacy or a protest against a specific action or policy that a government may orchestrate or mandate?
It is time for the “silent majority” to become more vocal. It is time for those who have awaken from their apathetic coma and join their brethren – people who whose ancestors originated here or elsewhere, but now call themselves “Americans” – and maybe we should honor our ethnic heritage without having to use hyphenated words or hues of skin pigmentation. Maybe it is time to return to the days of attitude concerning the idea of a “melting pot” – in which all are Americans that are citizens and those who wish to assimilate those ideals, traditions and laws be welcomed as a fellow American. Yet, as I have written recently, let not that sense of unity mask any entity or peoples who would subvert the traditions, constitutional laws and the established workings of our governmental system. Yes, I am referring specifically to the Fifth Element within our nation under the guise of the perverted ideologies of a specific religion (as well as those who believe they have a right to cross our borders illegally because of perception that the US has stolen land rightfully theirs) that work and strive not for the nation called the United States of America – but the advocacy of establishing a theocratic government under an outdated and undemocratic ideology that will undermine all that our Founders and true Americans have worked and died to attain and retain.
We need to listen more to the beat of the heart of our nation – not a foreign entity or advocacy designed to change America into something else. Never ever think that your vote doesn’t count or that you can not make a difference. A boulder of snow begins with a snowball.
Excuse my passion – I can’t help it – I am an AMERICAN and a Patriot to my nation and our true allies of other nations and its people.

[I] The major culprit of this phenomenon is that the schools of journalism no longer teach the importance of objectivity and the mission of the press and obligation of writing truth.
[II] Mr. Hamilton and his media associates should heed to the saying – “Choose your words wisely” – and truthfully.
[III] And remember, they are only polling a representative portion of the population – the question being what representation that would be, considering there are “Blue” and “Red” sectors across the nation.
[IV] A prime example of how the press/media manipulates affairs of elections in order for the outcome to become what they want – and thus overriding the desire of the majority of voters, in a sense; as well as actually enabling a process where the people do not really get to pick the candidates, the press does. And, if the press decides that a candidate is not important or viable – they will ostracize that person from their televised debates, as well as any major press coverage that allows that candidate to present his ideology and proposed actions upon the issues of the day.
[V] How many times have you seen or participated in a poll or “survey” where the questions are “loaded” – they are not set up to cover all the opinions or ideas concerning the subject of the question – or even provide a “none of the above” choice, at times?
[VII] And once again, 1,300 or 2,500 people polled does not represent the population of the United States by enough of a margin to indicate anything; although one can state that a percentage of those polled “said” …
[VIII] Honestly ask yourself this question: Are you choosing a candidate because he is ‘popular’ or ‘charismatic’ – or because of how he/she addresses the issues? Have you checked the person’s voting record, or have you just relied on MSM to make the decisions for you? Do you use the “information” in paid-for TV ads that is designed to make the opponent look like a crook with unproven or false allegations in order to make your decisions? These are questions that you must ask yourself honestly. It determines if you are a responsible voter or just a lazy or peer-driven voter. And, remember this – the primary election is just as important, if not more so, than the final election. It is in the primary election that we narrow down the candidates to one for each political party, and an independent that makes it past the primaries – providing a final choice BY the People – not the media or any given political or special interest entity. THIS is what America is all about. This is what the Founders intended. They had already seen how monarchy and semi-democracy governments operated, and provided for an establishment of what is called a democratic republic or a federal republic with the people’s will in mind and the retention of the liberties and freedoms guaranteed by the authors of the Constitution.
[IX] Mark Alexander and the Patriot Post (then called “The Federalist”) inspired me to see that even the most well-meaning poll is useless, if only based upon the percentage of the American people taking part in the poll – not truly representative of the American citizen at large. Mark Alexander began his endeavor the same year I conceived to begin a “newsletter” that later developed into an e-journal website and ultimately into the blog you see today. Of course, The Patriot is far more prestigious and more funded than my endeavor, but still remains today the hallmark of truth in citizen journalism among others found in cyberspace today.
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. Carl Jung
[X] And this is not to say there are not “conservative” elements of media out there that are not bias or endeavor to seek the Truth no matter if the source is “liberal”, “socialist”, “conservative” or any other words used to describe the followers of a certain ideology.

  1. Keith,

You think long and hard on issues that shape our country. There are encouraging signs that a growing number of people are listening, learning, and becoming more active as a result. Keep on doing what you're doing.

  2. Keith:

For my money, a good first step would be to vote out any of the current incumbents in the updoming elections - and just keep doping it on those not up for election this time. Eventually we'd get rid of them all.
