Bill Gertz reports at Gertz File:
The State Department is pursuing space arms control agreements without formal coordination at the Pentagon, and two members of Congress warned yesterday that such an accord would undermine U.S. national security.
It appears that the illegal immigration
issue is not the only thing that Obama is bypassing Congress. It has
been sensibly a tradition that the president coordinate with the
Pentagon and congressional armed services committee when garnishing
an arms control agreement.
Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) told
the Free Beacon:
I am particularly concerned by the potential that State Department officials may be proposing agreements without any consideration for the national security implications of their proposals.
