The Grand Jury found no sufficient evidence that Officer Brown was defending himself from personal attack and that the officer did not draw his weapon until Brown attempted to take it from the officer. It does not matter to the vigilante crowd of Ferguson because they were set upon the officer's guilt and the alleged innocence of Brown when the incident occurred. It is an example of mob rule instead of the rule of law. It is also coincides with Eric Holder's record of calling anyone racist who spoke up about his unethical and unconstitutional acts he and his boss have performed for years. The Obama administration has been a let down for the minorities in terms of economic recovery and other factors. If the alternative wasn't Mitt Romney in 2012, he probably would not have won his second term.
It is only an example of the problems in black urban communities, media, political pundits, and racists ignore the fact that street violence is a problem especially for blacks within their own community. Immediately, when the incident occurred, it was decided that the officer was guilty of racism and murder - making it questionable because Michael Brown was unarmed. It is unfortunate that there wasn't a video to help support the officer's case like there was showing Brown strong-arming a local retailer as he walked out of goods he stole from a counter.
Just like the Trayvon Martin shooting, Obama and Holder did more damage to community unity than helping to stem racial violence. Obama's recent remarks proves it.
The attitude of the Obama administration was made clear by the former senior aid, Joshua DuBois, of the Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnership made a statement concerning the Grand Jury decision. The best way to dispel racism, on both sides, is to read what M.L. King had to say about character. It might help by stopping segregation based on skin pigmentation, "black" and "white", and judge by character; certainly not putting a race all in one basket. And as far as race, it is not 'white' or 'black' when filling out government forms - it is Caucasian and Negro, the latter coming from the Spanish word ironically, 'black'. Contrary to popular belief, 'white' people, Caucasians, have different levels of skin pigmentation from the fair-skinned Scandinavians to the darker people of Sicily and Italy, Spain, et cetera. It is time long past due to look at each other as fellow Americans and stop using mundane characterizations. We are a nation of people who are native Americans and others who came here throughout US history as immigrants to live in a land of freedom and liberty. It is unfortunate that some American ancestry came here as slaves, but that has been corrected long ago and further resolved through Civil Rights legislation. It has taken a long time to overcome such bigotry, but it has improved, despite what the trouble makers who dwell upon being victims instead of improving their lot in a free society.
These private Mobs, I do and will detest. ...these Tarrings and Featherings, these breaking open Houses by rude and insolent Rabbles, in Resentment for private Wrongs or in pursuance of private Prejudices and Passions, must be discountenanced, cannot be even excused upon any Principle which can be entertained by a good Citizen - a worthy Member of Society. -- John Adams; Revolutionary Writings, letter to Abigail Adams, July 7th 1774; page 306.And that brings forth another issue. Why did GW Bush get away with creating a religious office within the executive branch of a secular government? He used an executive order to set it up. Why should taxpayers fund a religious office? Religious organizations are tax exempt and the First Amendment has been circumvented. More outrageous is that Obama continued to allow the office to exist, despite belonging to a political entity whose motto is "separation of church and state", taken from correspondence by Thomas Jefferson to a church group - those words NOT in the First Amendment.

Today blacks are about 13 percent of the population and continue to be responsible for an inordinate amount of crime. Between 1976 and 2005 blacks committed more than half of all murders in the United States. The black arrest rate for most offenses — including robbery, aggravated assault and property crimes — is still typically two to three times their representation in the population. Blacks as a group are also overrepresented among persons arrested for so-called white-collar crimes such as counterfeiting, fraud and embezzlement.
The mainstream media helped create the angst over Trayvon Martin and the riots in Ferguson. NBC falsely claimed George Zimmerman used a racial slur and edited his call to the police to make him sound bad while the whole media used an old picture of Trayvon Martin that made people think he was 12. On the eve of the Grand Jury verdict in the Michael Brown case, the New York Times published THE STREET Darren Wilson lives on with his new wife. Beyond those egregious offenses, the mainstream media helped create many of the initial myths about both cases, was slow to correct the facts and habitually slanted its news coverage to portray Zimmerman and Wilson as guilty, even when it didn’t fit the facts. Everyone knows the mainstream media is biased, but when its coverage plays a role in getting people’s businesses burned to the ground, it has gone too far.
One of the most amazing things about both the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases was how many people didn’t change their minds one bit about what happened even after the initial stories in both cases proved to be false.
It’s extremely ironic that most of the businesses that burned in Ferguson were minority-owned because black leaders like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panthers and, yes, Eric Holder and Barack Obama helped make it happen. Yes, they gave bloodless, CYA condemnations of violence, and then went back to hyping people up instead of calming them down. See, when people get mad, they give donations. Peace doesn’t make money. Peace doesn’t get your name in the newspaper. Peace doesn’t get anyone on TV.
There are also bad cops out there. The cops who tortured Abner Louima in New York City fit that description. But, it's better to let a court sort through the details under oath to get the facts rather than relying on rumors and people who see dollar signs in their eyes every time someone yells "racism."Its all become madness.
The Preservation of Liberty depends upon the intellectual and moral character of the People. As long as Knowledge and Virtue are diffused generally among the Body of a Nation, it is impossible they should be enslaved. This can be brought to pass only be debasing their understandings, or by corrupting their Hearts. -- John Adams, Revolutionary Writings, 1755-1775; page 214.
My fear is that Obama will use the riots to call for martial law. It is all scary. I keep praying for our country. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThe only riots were in Ferguson and governor ordered national guard to help, with complaints-negative response from AG Holder, of course. Hope your T-day was great!
