In view of the picture of Islam painted at yesterday's Landmark's Commission hearing and in the mainstream media, it is useful to recall this famous statement from the Ayatollah Khomeini:

But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world. . . . Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!

  1. Not only is Islam not a peaceful religion, it is a completely unsuitable foundation for such things as human rights.

Nietzsche said, "Christianity is a system, a consistently thought-out and complete view of things. If one breaks out of it a fundamental element, say, the belief in God, one thereby breaks the whole thing to pieces." This just as easily applies to the natural rights of man, which grew out of a Christian understanding of God and of morality as opposed to, say, Muslim, Buddhist, or Hindu. And for this reason, Western Democracy will not survive long, severed from its biblical roots.

  2. Keep in mind that Khomeini was not the prophet of Islam.
"[If] anyone slays a human being-unless it be [in punishment] for murder or for spreading corruption on earth-it shall be as though he had slain all mankind; whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind. [...]
    (The Qur'an, Al-Ma'idah, 5: 32

"Those who believe (in the Qur'an) and those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures) and the Christians and the Sabians and who believe in Allah and the last day and work righteousness shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve."
    (The Qur'an, Al Baqarah, 2: 62

Islam Is not the Problem, People who hide under the name of Islam or any other religion or Democracy and want to capture the word are.
