Candidate Situation Ethics - Say One Thing to Get in, Say Another When in Office

99 Days to Decide: Pro-Life PAC Learns Endorsed Candidate Is Pro-Choice

A Massachusetts anti-abortion group is taking a second look at its recent endorsement of gubernatorial candidate Tim Cahill after finding out he's supported abortion rights.

Though Cahill indicated that he backs a number of proposed restrictions in the questionnaire filled out for the Massachusetts Citizens for Life Political Action Committee, he has generally backed abortion rights.

PAC Chairwoman Madeline McComish said Monday that the endorsement stands and for the moment the group is not reconsidering. But she said the organization wants Cahill to "clarify" his positions before mobilizing activists in support of him.

"It's contingent on his reaffirming these issues," she said.

Cahill, the Massachusetts state treasurer, is an independent candidate for governor. McComish said Cahill's opponents, Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick and Republican Charlie Baker, are "totally pro-abortion."

  2. I personally find it difficult to trust anyone running for office in Massachusetts. What a crazy ultra-liberal state that is. I really feel for conservatives living there. Restrictive gun laws, same sex marriage allowances (Northhampton being the lesbian center of the world), lowest marriage rate in the country encouraging couples to just cohabitate instead, ultra-liberal professors who adhere ro professor values. Politicians such as Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry represent that state. That is a good indicator as to their liberality. Then there was the 17 Gloucester highschool student 'pact' pregnancies which is a good indicator to the liberal views of many families there. Then there is the democratic representative, James Fagan, who threatened to "rip apart" child sex abuse victims and make their lives miserable in the court proceedings if the "Jessica law' which would convict child sex offenders to long sentences. He was quoted as saying, "I'm going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined, that when they’re 8 years old, they throw up; when they’re 12 years old, they won’t sleep; when they’re 19 years old, they’ll have nightmares and they’ll never have a relationship with anybody.”

Yeah...good ole Massachusetts. Can anything good come from there? I know there are good people everywhere but it sure makes one wonder why more of them are not speaking up in that miserable state.

  3. Bellodian:

And don't neglect good old Provincetown out of the tip of the Cape for boy-type hand-holding and kissing as they stroll past perfume shops and/or leather bondage shops.

Somehow I don't think that John Adams would cotton to that sort of a moral decline in his state. And speaking of moral declines, if you're not familiar with such in the state of HI, then you need the following exceedingly pertinent and definitive information about the paperwork (“BC” etc.) in the eligibility matter and how it all came about, just follow up on the videos by Dr. Ron J. Polland. You’re in for a REAL eye-opener!!!
