Political Obsession and the Price of Apathy

Obsession: (1) a state in which someone thinks about someone or something constantly or frequency especially in a way that is not normal. (2) someone or something that a person thinks about constantly or frequently. (3) an activity that someone is very interested in or spends a lot of time doing.

Richard Nixonwas the 37^th President of the United States and whose legacy will forever be the Watergate Scandal, code name Operation Deep Throat that occurred in 1972. Five men were caught breaking into the Democratic National Headquarters located at the Watergate business complex. When investigation went into processing, Nixon and his advisors chose to cover-up the incident. Few will remember that President Nixon made profound statements like:

To Reform Our Government, We Must Reform Ourselves

Forty-million Americans are on food stamps, 26 million more than in 2007 before Obama was elected. The cost to government is $77 million, and FBI Reports show there is a huge increase on abuse of the system; along with abuse of other programs like Medicare by medical practitioners. Presently there are 70 programs that provide cash, food, housing, medical care, and social services to low-income persons. The total cost is almost $1 trillion.

President Obama staff sent me an email to address one of the topics listed as the “priority” - unfortunately ALL the topics listed were priority – and was incomplete, as the Daily Signal demonstrated. If he is truly going to address problems/issues that he has neglected for two terms, some being caused by himself and his administration, it will be a long State of the Union address. Of course, with all the smoke-and-mirror policies and such a long list, plus his inflated ego with nothing to back it up and denial – the list of 33 items in the list at Daily Signal will never be addressed much less solved. 

Warning to New Political Majority: "Save and Safeguard the Constitutional Republic"

Now that Republicans have the majority in Congress, it is a time for no compromising the Constitution of the United States. Promises not kept in the 1990s when this occurred only slowed the movement toward socialism, away from constitutional law. When it comes to articles and amendments of the Constitution – there is no compromise. If there are to be changes, it will be done by repealing or rewriting amendments. 

One such repeal should be the 16^th Amendment by adding an amendment that discontinues tax on income and progressive taxation with consumption tax at a fixed rate that can only be changed (increase/decrease) by two-thirds majority vote in House and Senate.

Ron Paul's Farewell Address to Congress and We the People

Ron Paul, who is retiring from Congress this year, gave a farewell speech to Congress in 48 minutes (ABC states 52 minutes). After listening or reading his speech, you can see why the GOP is just as much against Ron Paul as the Democrat Party. Tagged as a strict libertarian, he has consistently approached his station in office as a constitutionalist. This is what has caused the two traditional political clubs to identify him as a "radical" - therefore, as the media paints it, those who seek reformation back to what the founders created within constitutional law is "radical" and "unacceptable". That alone should raise a red flag to the American people.
It included this warning:

If it’s not accepted that big government, fiat money, ignoring liberty, central economic planning, welfarism, and warfarism caused our crisis we can expect a continuous and dangerous march toward corporatism and even fascism with even more loss of our liberties.

All the warnings of Rep. Ron Paul have come true dating back to 1984.

Declaration of Grievance Against the Federal Government of the United States

With the deadline of the annual tax nightmare paperwork submission on the horizon, this is a prelude to my declaration. 

I have supported the FairTax proposal that calls for the repeal of the 16^th Amendment and at the same time replace the income tax system with a flat-rate tax based upon consumption, not income. However, as Newt Gingrich has pointed out in discussing the reform of our federal tax code, who is and has been for its reformation, stated that it would be far faster to instill a reformation to the present tax code system as a flat tax of 15% across the board, with no increments according to income, and no deductions be made of any kind, rendering the annual paperwork down to about the size of a postcard – and not needing to spend money to hire anyone to do one's tax paperwork – for it would be simple and condensed – thus ridding the tax code law thousands of pages of articles that even the employees of the Internal Revenue Service cannot fathom entirely.

Report on Democrat-Socialist Agenda

Amendment I to the Articles of the Constitution of the United States of America

In June of 1776, the Continental Congress appointed a “Committee of Five” assigned to draft a declaration addressing grievances against the King of England and announce a declaration of independence as decided by the representatives of each of the thirteen colonies' conventions. The committee consisted of John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson of Virginia, Robert R. Livingston of New York, and Roger Sherman of Connecticut. It was decided within that committee that Thomas Jefferson write the first draft ⁱ and had to do so within seventeen days. Jefferson consulted other members of the Continental Congress, as well as John Adams as promised to committee members. 

The draft copy of the declaration document was presented to Congress on June 28^th, 1776 and took two days to edit Jefferson's accomplishment, which reduced the writing to about one fourth of its original content. Jefferson had written a portion that asserted that Britain had forced slavery on the colonies, but it was removed in order to obtain support from persons in Britain who were for the colonies independence. Jefferson wrote in his diaries and in letters that Congress had “mangled” his draft version, but finally conceded with the majority that the Declaration of Independence was completed. After several days of voting for the resolution of independence, to include Thomas Jefferson's critical passage of the slave trade, ⁱⁱ which he still resented, the wording of the Declaration of Independence was approved and sent to the printer for publication, to include 56 signatures on July 4^th, 1776 – which has become the day set aside for the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the United States of America. 

Can Our Constitution Survive?

In the last article, a Justice of our Supreme Court stated that our Constitution is outdated.

The New York Times reported that: The U.S. Constitution … it is terse and old … guarantees relatively few rights.

Progressive movements is nothing new, it has been seen on the political right just as it has been embedded in the left; however, in the case of the political left, it is progression towards socialism – a form of socialism that liberals think of as democratic. I guess one has to be part of today's American liberal crowd in order to understand that one, sort of like protesting outside of Wall Street instead of the White House where the policies are made, the bailouts are configured, and the people who work and reside in Washington, DC – our elected officials work constantly at different ways to waste OUR money, and then make us pay for the bloated deficit it by increasing our taxes – especially upon the part of society that actually creates jobs for others, the wealthy.

The Constitution is being put down because there is an undermining reason, as with most reasons why Sociocrats do anything.

I have written in the past concerning the infiltration of progressive liberal-Marxism invading our educational system with the help of the central government usurping states’ rights. Instead of looking at the root of the problems of the nationalized educational system, the members of the US Congress and recent presidents have just funneled more tax dollars in the system. No Child Left Behind was a flop when it was conceived and can readily be seen that it hasn’t worked. Politicians need to stop experimenting on society. It just has wasted taxpayer dollars and undermined the education of our youth, their future and the future of America.  Americans can no longer tolerate government elected officials thinking that problems are solved just by increasing funding via taxpayers of America.

Tomorrow, February 6^th, is Ronald Wilson Reagan’s birth day anniversary, but that isn’t as important as to what legacy he left behind – guided wisdom for America, that he loved so much, as much as the American people, that Americans should follow in order to reform our nation and its government back to the path of productivity, national pride, unity and the Jeffersonian republic. This reformation applies to all – citizens, elected officials and the way we think about values. It applies to Republicans just as much as Democrats who have drifted away from what made this country great. 

"It's a Republic, If You Can Keep It"

Mentioned frequently at Lighthouse Patriot Journal, ARM, here and other places is the descriptive two words of the government created in early American history – the Jeffersonian Republic. It was created by learned men, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay and other colonial-early Americans who had the advantage of being educated in classic education where the wisdom of the ancient civilizations, particularly the Greek and Roman, were taught along with contemporary wisdom of philosophers and political scientists and other studies. While the Greeks had invented democracy, it was the Romans who invented the republican form of government. Indeed, the Roman Empire had often been referred to as the Roman Republic.

As Thomas Wolke wrote at Jeffersonian Republic Now, January 10^th 2010 …

Some people have tried to draw a parallel between the decline and fall of the Roman Empire and the current condition of the United States. To me, however, the period of Rome’s late Republic, seems eerily similar to what is happening to America. How? As the Roman Republic grew (conquering Italy just as we conquered much of North America), the prosperity of the country grew apace. … The patricians found it financially beneficial to obtain slaves from the conquered peoples to run their estates and man their factories. The result was to throw millions of free Romans out of work or into poverty either because they were replaced by slaves or because wages dropped so much due to competition for remaining jobs that families could not subsist on them. … This is an overly simplified version of what happened to Rome’s republic. But if any of this resembles the current model of how the United States is operating or where we’re heading, then there’s cause for alarm. The question is, will we Americans maintain our Constitutional Republic (which was modeled in large part on the Roman Republic’s constitution of checks and balances and a bicameral legislature), or will we disintegrate economically and constitutionally until we, too, are swept into the dust bins of history?

Return of the Rule of Law

Rule of law, according to a Wikipedia entry is …

…also called supremacy of law, means that the law is above everyone and it applies to everyone. Whether governor or governed, rulers or ruled, no one is above the law, no one is exempted from the law, and no one can grant exemption to the application of the law. … The predominant view is that the concept of "rule of law" per se says nothing about the "justness" of the laws themselves, but simply how the legal system operates.^[6][7]  As a consequence of this, a very undemocratic nation or one without respect for human rights can exist with a "rule of law"—a situation that may be occurring in several modern dictatorships. The "rule of law" or Rechtsstaat may be a necessary condition for democracy, but it is not a sufficient condition.^{[8]  …} Aristotle endorsed the rule of law, writing that "law should govern", and those in power should be "servants of the laws."^[10]  … In Islamic jurisprudence rule of law was formulated before the twelfth century, so that no official could claim to be above the law, not even the caliph.^[12] However, this was not a reference to secular law, but to Islamic religious law in the form of Sharia law. In 1215 AD, a similar development occurred in England: King John placed himself and England's future sovereigns and magistrates at least partially within the rule of law, by signing Magna Carta.^[13]  In 1776, the notion that no one is above the law was popular during the founding of the United States, for example Thomas Paine wrote in his pamphlet Common Sense "that in America, the law is king. For as in absolute governments the King is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king; and there ought to be no other."^[15] In 1780, John Adams enshrined this principle in the Massachusetts Constitution by seeking to establish "a government of laws and not of men."^[16]
